What happens if there is a leak?
In the event that your water tank were to leak, Apex is obliged to carry out repairs to the tank only, but any damage caused by the leaking water to wallpaper, or carpets or home contents is the tenant’s responsibility. Therefore Apex advises you to insure your personal fixtures and fittings in your home and your personal possessions against fire, theft, flood and accidental damage. What happens if items belonging to Apex are damaged?
The cost of repairing or replacing any fixtures or fittings owned by Apex will be your responsibility if the damage was caused by you, your household, or your visitors; for example, you are responsible if you crack a sink or toilet bowl. Cover for these items should be included in your insurance policy.

What should my insurance policy cover?
The insurance policy you take out should cover for damage to:
- key fixtures and fittings such as sinks & toilet bowls
- internal decoration and floor coverings
- the replacement of broken glass
- loss of oil from your tank or heating system
- loss or damage to personal property
