Your new gas meter

How to transfer credit to the meter

To transfer credit to your gas meter, follow the steps below:

  1. Insert your gas card into the slot chip first for 5 seconds until you hear a beep.
  2. Check the display screen to ensure the new credit has been accepted.
  3. If the credit has been accepted, remove the gas card.

Keeping your gas meter topped up

We strongly advise you not to let your gas credit run to less than 30 units to ensure that your boiler continues to operate properly. When your gas supply runs less than 30 units it is approaching the meter reserve and will automatically switch off soon.

Automatic Gas Switch Off

If your gas supply has switched off due to no credit, the display will show the word “OFF” flashing. To switch your gas supply back on, please follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the gas appliance (boiler).
  2. Insert your card into the gas meter. If you keep your card in the meter, you will need to remove and re-insert it.
  3. Press and hold the black button (B) for 5 seconds until the display shows “Letgo”
  4. Release the black button (B) and the gas supply will switch back on after about 30 seconds and the display will change from OFF to ON.
  5. The gas valve is now open and all appliances are safe to use. If this does not happen please remove the card, wait for 1 minute, re-insert the card and repeat the process above.

Tenant recharges

If you request for an engineer to attend and the engineer reports to Apex that the gas meter has automatically switched off due to no credit, you will be charged the engineer’s call out fee of £25 during normal working hours and £35 outside of normal working hours.
